University of Baltimore Talking Trash Installation (2011-12)

In 2011 I designed and art directed a 120' x 10' fence installation on the UB campus. The idea was to use recycling to vote on a monthly question, raising awareness of UB's recycling efforts and branding a large stretch of empty sidewalk. I designed and oversaw the construction of five clear recycling containers, interchangable wall graphics, and the look and feel of the whole installation. In addition, I shot many of the photos used for the questions. Subjects like Favorite Baltimore Landmarks and John Waters Movies piqued the curiosity and recycling habits of passers-by. Results for each week were tallied and updated on placards mounted to the right of each receptacle. Later, the recycling campaign was replaced with a custom illustration featuring the UB mascot.
