Revival Meeting   We returned to the dock that night excited and tired; as we climbed the stairs to our rooms we realized that the Sunday revival meeting was setting up outside the entrance to our hotel. As we showered off, we were serenaded by the local reverend and then had to listen to a woman testify loudly for an hour in a hoarse scream.

The diveboat   We met up with Cathy, who flew in that afternoon, and through a cloud of mosquitoes, we walked down the street to the Anchorage. It's a private residence-turned restaurant/hotel once owned by the Lerner family and visited by Hemmingway, who later bought a house down the street. The island of North Bimini, on the southern end, is about 700 ft. wide, so we turned right and walked up a slight hill to the other side of the island, where the building sits on the oceanside overlooking the beach. Inside, the restaurant was decorated in the style of early 50's rec room, with beige paneling and wooden fish cutouts along the walls. We ate conch in various forms and sampled the menu, wich consisted of about six different dishes. Because the only dessert on the island available our whole stay seemed to be key lime pie, we all tried some. Walking back to the hotel, we gathered in the Microsoft room to review our first day's pictures and video.

I was able to clean the camera and housing thoroughly in the shower, then set it out to dry overnight on top of the case. Removing and cleaning the O-ring was easy and took several minutes each night, although the more tired I became the less I wanted to do it. 4 AA batteries took about 2 hours' average to recharge in the hotel room, and seemed to be good for an entire days' shooting with the strobe. The camera charges the battery inside itself, so I set it up to charge overnight and be fresh for the days' shooting in the morning.

Our beds were warm, clean, and very comfortable after three long dives. Tim and I fell asleep to Law And Order piped in over the Ft. Lauderdale cable station and we both slept heavily.
